Course Number: HIST10010

Course Description:
This course will explore how our perceptions of legendary events and figures from history have been shaped by forces such as ancient mythic traditions and political or cultural agendas. Students will also study the basic societal context of these legends, as they move along a coherent path through the past that has been designed with the introductory student in mind. When the critical approach described above is added. the course serves as an introduction to historical inquiry through the exploration of events and figures that many students have always wondered about.
